Plastic baggie your phone
Save your phone from the salty ocean water, but still allow yourself to take selfies on the beach by using a resealable sandwich bag! At the end of a long and sandy day, your phone will still be in great condition. Keep in mind that this won’t “waterproof” your phone, so don’t take it under the water with you, but it should keep your phone safe from ocean mist, splashes, and sand.

Use empty containers to disguise your valuables
Don’t know where to put your earrings or money when you want to stray away from your beach chair and hit the waves? Use an old and empty food or toiletry container to pop your belongings in. People won’t want to steal your old Starbucks cup, but little do they know.
-
Bring a lock
Some beaches have lockers, and to save yourself some money, bring your own lock! It’ll save you the peace of mind, and let you fully enjoy your beach adventure.
-
Add pockets to your towels
This might take a little time to do, but it is totally worth it as you’ll be able to keep your books, shades, sunblock, etc. nearby and also minimize the amount of sand you’ll have to remove from your belongings.
-
Make sure your face makeup has SPF
If you’re wearing makeup to the beach, pick a foundation or BB cream that offers SPF protection! It’ll save you an extra step, so you’ll have more time to enjoy yourself. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen to the rest of your body too. SPF is very important in preventing skin cancer and wrinkles later on!
-
Bring snacks
Avoid long lineups for overpriced and unhealthy snacks, by bringing your own goodies to share. Food like kettle popped popcorn, chips and hummus, and watermelon are great ideas to start with!
-
Water
If you’re going to be outside for a while, it’s important to stay hydrated! Bring lots of bottles of water with you, and ideally if you have a cooler to carry them in, use it!

Remove sand using baby powder
Trying to get sand off your feet before leaving the beach and putting your shoes back on can be a hassle. Avoid this situation by using baby powder and sprinkling it on your feet to get rid of the sand grains! It’ll get rid of any food odor, too.
-
Bring warmer clothes
If you’re going to be staying late at the beach to watch the sunset, bring a some type of cover up! A long sleeved shirt, or a simple sweatshirt can prove to be really useful.
-
Use facial cleansing wipes
If you’re going to be at the beach for a while, you’re probably going to be sweaty and feeling a little icky when you leave. If you have a dinner or class to go after your beach day, these wipes will help you look refreshed and presentable!
